Afternon storm update

Well, drizzle and light rain have moved into the area. It's a hair slower than what it looked like last night, but this shouldn't effect the forecast too much. Otherwise, things look essentially the same as before. Still thinking 1-3 inches will be the rule across a good portion of the metro area. Higher amounts as you head north.

The main question still centers around when the changeover from rain to snow will occur. The one concern I have with regards to some enhanced lift that will overspread the area late this afternoon and early this evening. An enhancement to lift may result in more rapid cooling of the layer, enough to support an earlier changeover to snow. If we see a quicker changover, higher snow totals are possible. Now it's just a wait-and-see kind of game.
