Yesterday, Hurricane Katrina dumped over 10 inches of rain in some locations in South Florida. Now it looks like it is taking aim at the Gulf Coast near New Orleans. It may make landfall as a powerful category 4 hurricane on Monday.

Tropical systems are notorious for producing flooding rainfall. Our question of the day has to do with that....
